The world is changing in a big way, and nothing is excluded from this transformation including the educational system. I'm predominately referring largely to the American schooling system, once thought of as the best in the world. Indisputably, the U.S. ranks high on the Top 10 Colleges in the world list according to articles like Top Universities in the World 2019. However, lists can vary greatly. For example, Top Universities 2019 has 4 US colleges while another list from World University Rankings 2019 has at least 7 US universities listed in the Top 10. One list has University of Oxford listed at #1 while the other list has the same university listed at #5. Check the lists for yourself, and with a bit of additional research, come to your own conclusion.
In my view, realistically I would say that the U.S. probably has at most 4-5 top universities in the Top 10 of the world today. I come to this conclusion for a number of reasons. I won't go into too much detail here, but let's suffice it to say that many "U.S. colleges have become extremely fanatical and well, too expensive."
Getting to the main reason for this blog post, I came across an excellent YouTube video about college and why the concept of "everyone has to go to college" is changing. Much of the drift away from college has to do with technology and of course, expense. Check the YouTube video below for some pretty good views on why this trend is taking place.
